Delaware Wedding Florist: Jennifer & Dan at Harry’s Savoy

I loved working with Jennifer and Dan for their wedding!  It was like a mini high school reunion.  Jennifer and I went to high school together along with her photographer, Brownlee Honeycutt of Honeycutt Photography, and her DJ, Mike Simmons of Must Be The Music DJs.  Their wedding took place at the beautiful Harry’s Savoy Ballroom in Wilmington, Delaware.

Jennifer and Dan decided to get married on the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend.  I thought it was a brilliant idea since all of their family and friends would be in town for the holiday.  Plus, all of the dancing would help burn some the calories from eating so much turkey!

Their weddings colors were plum and white. The plum added a richness and regal feel to the wedding.  I adore the orchids, roses, hydrangea, freesia, lisianthius, and stock used to create the gorgeous round bouquets.  For an added touch, we trailed Picasso calla lilies through Jennifer’s bouquet.

For Jennifer’s something old, she tasked me with the “nerve-racking” job of cutting lace from her mother’s wedding veil to wrap around the base of her bridal bouquet.  I can’t remember how much reassurance I needed before I cut into her mother’s veil. Ugh.  However, I absolutely love bringing a special and sentimental touch to a wedding.

Congratulations Jennifer and Dan!  I am so happy for the two of you!  I loved being a part of your special day!  I wish you a lifetime of happiness together.

Kennett Square Wedding Florist: Willowdale Steeplechase

I hope that everyone had a great Mother’s Day!  Every year on Mother’s Day is the Willowdale Steeplechase in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania.  What a fun way to celebrate with your mom!  The photo below was taken by Jim Graham Photography.

My obsession continues with creating these great floral fascinators!!!  I was inspired by Great Britain and the Kentucky Derby.

Christina wore this design to the Willowdale Steeplechase last weekend.  I created the structure out of wires and then attached these gorgeous yellow calla lilies!  A ray of sunshine, right?!?!

I am currently working on another floral fascinator and two floral necklaces to be worn at the Radnor Hunt Races tomorrow.  I am still taking orders for floral hats and jewelry designed and created out of fresh flowers and greens with your personal vision in mind.  Up next is the Devon Horse Show at the end of the month.

Dover Wedding Florist: Johnny & Diane at Delaware Agricultural Museum

I wanted to wish Johnny and Diane a very happy first wedding anniversary!  I can’t believe that it has been a year since their rustic country wedding at the Delaware Agricultural Museum in Dover, Delaware.

When I met Diane, she had a binder full of ideas and knew exactly what she wanted for her special day.  I still remember when she told me that her wedding colors were burgundy and real tree camo.  You don’t hear that everyday!  🙂

I adored the old-time village behind the museum.  There was a little white chapel and little wooden houses.  It was very picturesque!

Johnny and Diane were married in front of the chapel while the guests sat on hay bales.  The aisle was lined with shepard’s hooks with mason jars filled with light and fluffy baby’s breath.  The bouquets had baby’s breath with burgundy calla lilies tucked in and were wrapped in twine.  My favorite touch was the shotgun shell boutonnieres with baby’s breath.

I loved how all of their family and friends helped set up their ceremony and reception space.  I know that this day was filled with many cherished memories.  Especially their two adorable daughters as their flower girls!

Congratulations Johnny and Diane!  Thank you for allowing me to be part of your special day!

Rehoboth Beach Wedding Florist: Michael & Megan at Rehoboth Beach Country Club

With all of this bitter cold weather, I thought it would be nice to share Michael and Megan’s wedding from last May.  If I close my eyes, I can feel the sunshine and salty sea breeze.  Their wedding had a romantic, beachy feel with a touch of Hawaii.  The couple wanted to incorporate a little touch of Hawaii since Michael was stationed there in the Army.

Their wedding was at the gorgeous Rehoboth Beach Country Club in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.  Megan looked ravishing as she walked down an aisle lined with rose petals and fresh Hawaiian leis.  They were married under a pergola draped in shimmering champagne organza overlooking the bay.

The ballroom was filled with their family and friends.  The centerpieces were lush and romantic with roses, gerbera daisies, and seeded eucalyptis accented with white sea shells.  Candlelight and more leis decorated the outside patio.

Congratulations Michael and Megan!  It was truly a magical day.  Thank you for allowing me to be part of your special day!

Delaware Wedding Florist: Harry’s Savoy Bridal Show (Winter 2015)

There was such a great turn out on Sunday at the Harry’s Savoy Bridal Show! I do not think that I had time for a break the entire show! My favorite thing was meeting all of the brides and grooms and their friends and family. I love how each wedding is different. It gets my creative juices flowing! I love being a wedding florist!

I wanted to achieve a romantic, vintage, and rustic feeling with my arrangements for this show. Let me know if you think that I was able to accomplish this. The biggest hit was the duchess rose bouquet. Everyone was very inquisitive about how I created it. Furthermore, everyone loved the small boutonnieres, especially since they are a current trend with grooms.

If you would like to schedule a consultation for your wedding flowers, please contact me today. I look forward to hearing from you! Hope everyone is enjoying this “snow” day!
